5 People Killed in Roadside Explosion in Middle Shabelle

Five people lost their lives in a roadside explosion that took place in Middle Shabelle on Monday.

An improvised explosive device (IED) blasted through Bal’ad in Middle Shabelle thus killing five people, according to Qasim Ali Noor.

Bal’ad District Commissioner Noor said the victims were on their way to Mogadishu when the explosion occurred.

Noor added that the explosion seemed to target the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) troops.

A convoy of ATMIS troops was behind the one blasted by the roadside bomb.

Eight other people were injured in the explosion.

Those either killed or injured in the explosion were all civilians.
