MOGADISHU — Somali security forces have carried out separate operations in the Lower Shabelle and Bakool regions, resulting in the elimination of militants and the seizure of military equipment.
Operation Near Warmaxan
On February 6, Danab Special Forces, working alongside international partners, executed a precise operation against Al-Shabaab extremists near Warmaxan in Lower Shabelle.
The military action led to the elimination of two Al-Shabaab fighters and the apprehension of two other militants.
Security forces also dismantled an Al-Shabaab roadblock and confiscated a significant quantity of explosives that officials stated were intended for use against civilian populations.
Targeting Commanders in Bakool
Separately, Somali National Army (SNA) forces from the 9th Battalion of the 60th Division executed a coordinated military operation in the Moorigaabey area, close to Hudur, the regional administrative center of Bakool.
Authorities reported that the operation aimed at apprehending a militant commander responsible for widespread fear among local residents. During the raid, security forces successfully captured vehicles utilized by the extremists.
