Defence Minister Reports Sharp Decline in Terrorist Capabilities

MOGADISHU — The Minister of Defence has delivered a firm assessment of the national security situation, stating that recent military operations have successfully curtailed ‘s operational capacity.

Addressing the progress of current offensives, the Minister emphasized that the militant group now appears “visibly fragmented,” with its power projection diminishing substantially each day.

Operational Collapse

Minister Fiqi observed that the combat environment has transformed dramatically. He noted that recent confrontations between the and insurgents have conclusively shown that the adversaries can no longer maintain extended combat operations.

According to defence officials, the group’s leadership networks are collapsing under continuous pressure, compelling fighters to adopt defensive positions in territories they once controlled.

“In the latest engagements, our forces have unmistakably shown that the adversary is now deteriorating and in disarray… the period of the group relying on fear tactics is concluding,” Minister Fiqi declared.

Recapturing Territory

The Minister’s comments arrive during a period of enhanced military campaigns throughout central and southern areas of the country.

The Federal Government claims that the persistent offensive has not only recaptured significant territory but has also achieved a psychological victory, eroding the myth of invincibility the group formerly promoted.
