Four Taiwanese Experts Appointed to Lead Aid Efforts in Somaliland

Four Taiwanese experts have been appointed to lead technical assistance efforts in the breakaway region of Somaliland.

Mars Shiue, who heads the Taiwan Technical Mission in Somaliland, announced this on the eve of the New Year.

Taiwan opened its Representative Office in Somaliland on December 1, 2020.

Since then, the two breakaway nations have increased their efforts of establishing strong diplomatic and bilateral ties.

Shiue confirmed that four Taiwanese experts have now joined the technical mission to help carry out a range of projects in Somaliland.

They are experts in wide-ranging fields that include information and communications technology, agriculture, and healthcare.

According to Shiue, the experts are quite experienced having worked in multiple projects in different parts of the globe.
