A journalist working for a local TV station in Mogadishu was stabbed to death on May 4, 2020.
A man wielding a knife attacked the journalist, who was identified as Said Yusuf Ali, before stabbing him four times.
Ali works for Kalsan TV.
Several organizations representing the interests of journalists in the country strongly condemned his killing.
Among these were Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ), Somali Independent Media Houses Association (SIMHA), and Somali Media Association (SOMA).
Ali’s family say the incident took place the Mogadishu’s neighborhood of Sey Biyano at around 7.30pm. The journalist died on the spot.
Ali leaves behind a widow, who is expectant, and two sons.
