The new United States Ambassador to Somalia presented his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Mogadishu.
Ambassador Larry Andre presented his credentials to Abdisaid Muse Ali, the foreign affairs minister on Sunday, January 30.
He presented a copy of his letter of credence.
The originals would be forwarded to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo later.
Through this act, Ambassador Andre has formally informed Somalia that he is the only diplomat in the East African nation mandated to speak on behalf of the US.
Ambassador Andre is President Joe Biden’s personal representative to Somalia.
