Over 31,000 Somalis to Receive Life-Saving Support for Drought from FAO

More than 31,000 people in Somalia facing drought are to receive life-saving support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

On January 31, FAO Somalia received a generous financial contribution from the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund (UNCERF).

FAO expressed gratitude to UNCERF for its contribution.

According to FAO Somalia, the finances would help the organization to avail emergency life-saving support to tens of thousands of drought-affected households in the country.

Somalia is on the cusp of one of its worst humanitarian crises.

The ongoing drought, which is the result of consecutive failed rains, has exposed millions of Somalis in the country to the risk of starvation, diseases, and death.
