Six Killed as an African Express Cargo Plane Crashes in Somalia

An African Express-chartered cargo plane crashed in Bardale in Somalia’s Southwest State killing all the six people on board.

The plane, which was chartered by the Kenyan-based firm, was on its way from Baidoa to Bardale with a cargo containing medical supplies when it crashed just on the verge of landing.

Among the dead were two Kenyan pilots. Additionally, authorities confirmed that two Somali nationals also died in the crash while two other nationalities remain undetermined.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Ethiopian troops in the region shot the plane, which had made a brief stopover in Baidoa while traveling from Mogadishu, with RPG.

One of the dead pilots is the son of Captain Mussa H. Bulhan, one of the co-owners of African Express.
