According to military authorities, the operation caused significant damage to the militant group and provided relief to local communities that had endured threats and violence. These regions are now reported to be free of militant elements.
Lieutenant Colonel Abukar Hassan Ahmed (Galmadoobe), Deputy Commander of the 19th Gorgor Commando Brigade, affirmed the success of the mission.
“Security personnel are actively tracking down militants who fled following their defeat in the operation,” Lt. Col. Galmadoobe stated.
The operation is part of intensified efforts by the federal government to reclaim rural areas in Middle Shabelle and secure supply routes serving the capital.
