MOGADISHU — The Somali National Army (SNA), operating in close coordination with AUSSOM forces from the Ugandan (UPDF) contingent and international security partners, has successfully gained complete authority over Daarusalaam and Mubarak in the Lower Shabelle region.
According to military officials, these two newly liberated areas had previously functioned as vital strategic strongholds and heavily fortified sanctuaries for Khawaarij (Al-Shabaab) combatants.
Operation Bader Targets Terror Infrastructure
The successful offensive was executed under the banner of “Operation Rolling Thunder,” which serves as a highly targeted component of the wider “Operation Bader” campaign launched during the holy month of Ramadan.
Frontline reports indicate the allied forces specifically targeted critical militant infrastructure. These included facilities ruthlessly utilized by the extremists as illegal courts to intimidate and oppress local civilians, secure shelters housing senior operatives, and strategic staging locations from which explosive assaults and other terrorist actions against innocent civilians were organized and initiated.
Securing the Liberated Zones
Throughout the intense operation, Al-Shabaab militants experienced a substantial, crippling setback. Multiple command positions, large weapon repositories, and military equipment caches were completely destroyed by the advancing forces.
Somali National Army units have now fully secured the liberated territories. Extensive clearance and confirmation procedures are currently continuing to safely deactivate explosives and pursue any remaining fugitive elements hiding in the surrounding areas.
In a joint statement, the Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Army Command reiterated that counter-terrorism operations will be steadily escalated. The federal government remains unyielding in its mission to guarantee the safety and security of the Somali population and to permanently eradicate all remaining terrorist enclaves across the country.
