Somali Envoy in Russia Credentials Handed to Belarus

Minsk — Somalia’s Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Zubeyr, has submitted his Letters of Credence to Sergey Lukashevich, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, officially accrediting him as Somalia’s non-resident envoy to Belarus.

This credential presentation represents a significant advancement in the formal diplomatic ties between the two nations.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Zubeyr delivered greetings from the President and Somali citizens, confirming the Federal Government’s dedication to boosting bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration across political, economic, trade, and cultural domains.

Both parties highlighted the value of promoting common objectives, supporting regional stability, fostering development, and enhancing international cooperation.

Deputy Foreign Minister Lukashevich received the ambassador warmly and voiced Belarus’s endorsement of Somalia’s diplomatic initiatives, praising the increasing partnership between both countries.

Strengthening Somalia-Russia Diplomatic Ties

This diplomatic engagement with Belarus follows closely on the heels of similar developments with Russia. Somalia’s new Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Abdullahi Zubeyr, previously presented a copy of his credentials to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, who also serves as the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa. That step marked a significant move in strengthening diplomatic relations between Somalia and Russia, highlighting their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors [citation:1].

The gathering demonstrates Somalia’s ongoing pursuit to broaden diplomatic involvement and discover new avenues for collaboration founded on mutual benefits.

Additional growth in cooperation between Somalia and Belarus is anticipated in the near future.
