MOGADISHU — The Federal Government of Somalia has conveyed its profound solidarity to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan following a deadly explosion targeting a place of worship on Friday.
The incident occurred during Friday prayers near an Imam Bargah Mosque in the Tarlai area of Shehzad Town, on the outskirts of Islamabad. Authorities report that the blast resulted in at least 31 deaths and left 169 others injured.
Official Condolences
In a formal statement, Somalia offered sincere condolences to the families of those who perished and expressed hope for a speedy and complete recovery for all injured individuals.
“The Government of Somalia firmly condemns all forms of violence against civilians and places of worship,” the statement read.
Mogadishu reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan in preserving peace, security, and social harmony in the face of such attacks.
