MOGADISHU — The Federal Government of Somalia has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of its Founding Day, describing the annual event as a significant milestone that encapsulates the Kingdom’s extensive history, national character, and rich cultural legacy.
Through an official statement, Somalia expressed its special, warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, along with the Saudi leadership, government, and citizens. The administration wished the Kingdom enduring wealth, ongoing stability, and consistent national advancement.
A Growing Strategic Partnership
Mogadishu reiterated its profound appreciation for the enduring fraternal ties between the two countries. The Somali government emphasized that the bilateral relationship has evolved into a strategic partnership founded on mutual respect, confidence, and common interests.
This congratulatory message arrives amid a period of rapidly expanding diplomatic and security ties between Mogadishu and Riyadh. In recent weeks, Saudi Arabia has strongly reaffirmed its backing for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Concurrently, the two nations have formalized several high-level agreements, including a major military and defense pact and a comprehensive maritime cooperation agreement aimed at securing critical Red Sea trade routes.
