Somalia is to receive $10 million donated by the United Kingdom and the United States for food security and the prevention of famine.
US Agency for International Development (USAID) signed a Development Cooperation Agreement with the UK Aid on this.
The two international agencies signed the agreement on Thursday.
During the signing ceremony, officials from the two agencies stated that the funds are specifically for food security and famine prevention programs in the East African nation.
Damon Bristow, the Development Officer at Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), confirmed the signing of the program.
He added that the agreement allows both agencies a platform through which to tackle the crippling drought in Somalia.
