ADDIS ABABA — Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, chaired the Sixth High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the A3 in Addis Ababa on Friday.
Serving as Coordinator of the A3 group (the three African non-permanent members of the UN Security Council), the Minister organized the gathering alongside the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly to develop strategies for enhancing Africa’s presence on the global stage.
Strategic Dialogue
The strategic dialogue assembled prominent diplomats, including:

H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Foreign Minister of Liberia.

H.E. Noëlla Ayeganagato Nakwipone, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
They were accompanied by the AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, and the AU’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohamed Fathi Edrees.
Consolidating Influence
In their deliberations, the Ministers reaffirmed their shared dedication to promoting African interests internationally. The leaders emphasized the critical need for enhanced coordination between the AU Peace and Security Council (PSC) and the A3.
This cooperation is considered vital for consolidating Africa’s unified stance and optimizing its strategic influence on UN Security Council resolutions and discussions.
Amid increasing global uncertainty, the meeting concluded with a compelling appeal for African unity based on a well-defined strategic approach. The Ministers recognized the significance of principled participation in addressing complex geopolitical changes while reinforcing multilateralism to safeguard continental interests.
