Somalia is to receive an additional donation of $8 million from the United Kingdom to help its drought mitigation measures.
Nick Dyer, the UK Special Envoy for Famine Prevention and Humanitarian Affairs, announced this on February 6.
He made the announcement after meeting Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The UK had already donated funds to help Somalia deal with the effects of the ongoing debilitating drought that has already claimed tons of lives.
Prime Minister Roble expressed gratitude to the UK for the fresh donation.
