This outcome represents a pivotal transformation in the country’s regional position, demonstrating its expanding role in shaping Africa’s security framework.

The voting occurred at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, where member nations cast their ballots in a show of faith in Somalia’s trajectory.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed deep appreciation to the countries that backed the nomination, indicating that the success was realized through the unity and solidarity exhibited particularly by the Member States of the Eastern Africa region.
The election places Mogadishu at the forum where essential determinations concerning African collective security are made.
