Somalia’s Health Ministry Holds Online Training for Health Information Managers

The Ministry of Health in Somalia held an online training for health information managers around the country on September 1.

The 3-day training took place virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the cancellation of public gatherings.

Somalia’s health ministry organized the training in conjunction with World Health Organization.

Organizers said that the training was for health information managers working for the Federal Government of Somalia and the Federal Member States too.

The format used in the training included lectures, software demonstrations, and lab exercises.

According to the organizers, the training seeks to equip health professionals with the skills and latest technology to improve provision of quality healthcare around the country.
