Somalis Unlikely to Travel to Europe Soon

Somalis who planned to travel to countries in the European Union (EU) would have to wait longer for the chance to do that.

The EU has announced plans to reopen its borders starting later this week.

However, it has listed several countries whose citizens would not be allowed to travel anywhere in Europe.

Anyone wishing to travel to Somalia must wait longer because the country’s name is omitted from the list of countries whose people are eligible for Schengen visas.

However, Somalia is not alone in this regard. EU has also extended the ban to travelers from the United States, Brazil, and Russia, which are among the countries worst hit by COVID-19.

EU countries, just like other nations around the world, closed their borders and airspaces to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in the region.
