President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen discussed the ongoing drought in the Southwest State with a top United Nations official in Somalia.
The discussions between President Laftagareen and Kiki Gbeho, the UN Deputy Special Representative for Somalia, took place in Mogadishu on February 2.
Drought has become a huge threat to all Somalis in the East African nation.
International organizations have also called for increased and urgent humanitarian assistance before the situation worsened.
During their Wednesday talks, Laftagareen and Gbeho also discussed ongoing federal parliamentary elections.
