Baydhabo – Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, President of Somalia’s Southwest State, congratulated the people of Benadir for taking part peacefully, responsibly, and transparently in today’s one-person, one-vote local elections.
The President praised the citizens for their political maturity, awareness, and dedication to Somalia’s democratic processes, stating that these elections represent a historic move toward governance based on popular will.
He also commended security agencies, election commissions, and all officials who organized the polls, highlighting their role in ensuring voting occurred in a safe and orderly manner.
Laftagareen emphasized the need for continued public engagement in Somalia’s democratic journey to elect leadership that represents the people’s preferences and to enhance national unity and progress.
