The World Health Organization (WHO) deployed 2,194 community health workers (CHWs) all over Somalia last year.
The organization stated that the CHWs were deployed in 29 districts throughout the country in 2022.
WHO said this in its latest report.
The CHWs concentrated their efforts in the underserved and hard-to-reach access-constrained communities around the country.
According to WHO, the deployment was necessary because of the numerous health challenges Somalia experienced between 2020 and 2021.
