The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. In a firm statement addressing the recent diplomatic development, The Jordanian government described the recognition of Somaliland as a “blatant breach” of international law and the United Nations Charter. This action represents a direct affront to the sovereignty of the fraternal Federal Republic of Somalia, stated the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. The Kingdom stressed that respecting national frontiers is an absolute principle and that such diplomatic actions fundamentally undermine the well-established global legal framework. The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, underscored Jordan’s categorical rejection of any initiatives to establish “parallel entities” that endanger the unity of the Somali state. He affirmed that Jordan stands resolutely with the legitimate governmental institutions of Somalia, prioritizing the stability and security of the Somali brotherly population. His remarks indicated that Amman considers maintaining Mogadishu’s authority across its entire territory as crucial for regional harmony. Ambassador Al-Majali concluded by asserting that Jordan opposes any measures designed to divide Somalia’s unity or jeopardize its national security.
