Starsky Airline Flight Crash-Lands After Failed Takeoff in Mogadishu; All Aboard Reportedly Safe

MOGADISHU — A commercial aircraft operated by Starsky Airline has crash-landed in Mogadishu shortly after a failed takeoff from Aden Adde International Airport.

According to initial reports, the plane veered off course and struck the Indian Ocean near the beach, close to the perimeter of the International  Compound and the UNMAS gate.

Survivors Evacuated

Witnesses at the scene report that all passengers and crew managed to evacuate the aircraft safely. Images circulating from the crash site show the plane resting in shallow waters near the shoreline.

“They all walked out,” an eyewitness stated, confirming that there were no immediate fatalities reported following the incident.

Rescue Operations Underway

Rescue teams were immediately deployed to the scene, and operations are currently ongoing to secure the site and assess the aircraft.

The commercial flight was reportedly bound for the central regions of Somalia, with conflicting initial reports listing the destination as either Galkayo, Guriceel or both. Aviation authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the technical cause of the crash.
