HARGEISA — A hand grenade explosion in Hargeisa on Friday evening, August 7, 2026, injured two soldiers and two civilians, according to a statement from the Somaliland Police Command.
The blast occurred at approximately 7:00 PM local time near a location where two military personnel were seated. The explosion caused injuries to the two soldiers and two civilians who were present at the scene. All four injured individuals were transported to Hargeisa General Hospital for medical treatment.
According to police, the hand grenade fell to the ground near one of the injured soldiers, and there was no indication that the grenade was intentionally thrown at the location.
